Good Housekeeping 1-pager by Hank Porter: Fire Chief Donald

Description

“Fire Chief Donald” by Hank Porter

Sound the alarm! Donald Duck is on his way! Sporting an oversized fire helmet and brimming with determination, our eager fire chief races to the rescue in this charming sequence of five illustrated scenes.

A ringing alarm interrupts Donald’s quiet reading, sending him speeding off in his little fire engine. Arriving at Minnie Mouse’s home with hose in hand, he is ready for heroic action – only to discover that his services are required for the rather less dramatic task of watering her flowers!

Glowing reds and golds, playful period details and Donald’s wonderfully expressive reactions make Fire Chief Donald a delightful piece of visual storytelling. From the urgency of his grand entrance to the bemusement of his final assignment, it captures the irresistible comedy of a would-be hero brought gently back down to earth.
