Glass etchings

In the mid-1990s the Carl Barks Studio commissioned one of the very best American glass sculptors – Daniel Bascobert – to create a limited number of extremely beautiful glass etchings based on Carl Barks’s artwork. Less than 10 different images were commissioned by the Carl Barks Studio and each etching was produced in a quantity of only 3: One numbered 1/1 and one AP 1/1 plus one titled Final Proof. Each glass etching is accompanied by a base with integrated light which makes for an impressive display. These glass etchings were either auctioned off at special Disney events or sold directly to high-end collectors. Due to the extremely limited edition, these etchings rarely surface on the secondary market so it is a great pleasure for us at Gallery Disneyana+ to be able to offer some of these extremely rare works of art.

In addition to the original copy given to Barks, 10 individually numbered replicas and a single AP etching were produced. The one offered here is the AP.
