Glass etchings
In 2015, Gallery Disneyana+ managed to bring about an artistic collaboration between American glass sculptor extraordinaire Daniel Bascobert and Patrick Block. Both Bascobert and Block worked together with Carl Barks back in the 90s but not at the same time. Much like in the Carl Barks Studio days, Bascobert has created strictly limited edition glass etchings based on some of Block’s art. All of these exclusive works of art have been hand-signed in the glass (using engraving tools) by Bascobert and Block. The results so far have been astonishing and the glass sculptures have been well received by fans and investors.
Secret of the Dragon’s Den
This glass etching was the first piece created by Dan Bascobert based on Patrick Block’s art – and so far the only glass etching based on one of Patrick’s oil paintings. This lavishly detailed piece measures 37 x 31 cm and stands 41 cm tall with the base. The glass itself is 1 cm thick. Although this piece is marked as an AP for artist’s proof there will not be made any other etchings in this edition. The amount of time spent on this beautiful piece meant that it would not be viable from a financial perspective to produce any others. This means that this beautiful artwork is a one-of-a-kind glass etching. The artwork is signed by Bascobert and Block and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Gallery Disneyana+.

This glass etching is based on Patrick Block’s immensely popular portrait watercolour of Scrooge McDuck. It will be produced in one single edition of only 10 sculptures. Each sculpture measures 30 x 30 cm (34 x 30 cm with base) and is individually numbered 1/10 – 10/10. The artwork is signed by Bascobert and Block and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Gallery Disneyana+.
