Description

This beautiful and completely finalised art study featuring Donald and Daisy dancing was completed by Carl Barks around 1996 or early 1997. This study served as the final preliminary before Barks made the final drawing that was included and sold as part of his 97th birthday celebration.

Until seeing this study we were unaware of the existence of so elaborate full-colour studies to Barks’ 96th birthday pieces. This could in fact be a rare one-off in this regard making this an extra special artwork with added historical relevance as it one the one hand lends itself as a completely finished work of art while at the same time it also still showcases details from Barks’ creative work process.

This drawing is made in coloured pencils on fine art paper. The drawing has been professionally framed behind musem-quality glass to a total size of 51 x 42 cm. The drawing is signed by Barks in black ink pen to the lower right.

This beautiful artwork has had only one prior owner who received  it as a gift from mr. Barks himself. A certificate attesting to this fact will accompany this exclusive artwork.

This is just the second time (ever!) that we have been able to offer a full-colour drawing by mr. Barks featuring the Disney ducks – artwork such as this by the good duck artist is highly sought after and only rarely comes up for sale. Now is your chance to add something truly special and unique to your art collection.
