Good Housekeeping 1-pager by Hank Porter: Symphony Hour

Description

 “Symphony Hour” by Hank Porter

Fine evening dress, polished instruments and the promise of a splendid performance – what could possibly go wrong? Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy discover that musical harmony is easier to imagine than achieve in this delightfully mischievous print.

As Mickey leads the ensemble, Goofy’s booming tuba puts Donald’s patience to the test. A jug of water offers Donald a tempting means of retaliation, but the musical mischief comes full circle when a tiny green frog makes a surprise appearance on his own instrument.

Warm golden tones, elegant jackets and expressive poses set the stage for a wonderful contrast between concert-hall sophistication and classic Disney slapstick. With its playful sequence of interconnected scenes, Symphony Hour is a charming celebration of friendship, rivalry and a performance memorable for all the wrong reasons.
