Description
The Hockey Champ by Tom Wood
A little confidence. A little competition. A whole lot of Donald Duck.
In this delightful winter scene, Donald takes to the ice with unmistakable self-assurance, while Huey, Dewey and Louie stand ready with their hockey sticks—and expressions that suggest they are far from impressed by their uncle’s expertise.
Based on Tom Wood’s original artwork from 1939, The Hockey Champ captures the humour and personality of classic Disney through expressive poses, delicate linework and soft washes of colour. The snowy setting and colourful winter outfits give the composition a warmth that belies its icy surroundings.
A charming addition to any Disney collection, particularly for admirers of Donald Duck and the studio’s early artwork.
