The Witch’s Cauldron – Gustaf Tenggren
Step into the shadows of Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, where fairy-tale beauty takes a sinister turn.
In this atmospheric illustration by Gustaf Tenggren, the Evil Queen in her witch disguise leans over a glowing cauldron, her wicked grin illuminated by its eerie light. Around her, ancient books, curious vessels and a watchful raven perched upon a skull fill the chamber with unsettling detail.
Muted greens, smoky greys and the warm glow beneath the cauldron create a striking interplay of light and darkness. Tenggren draws the eye towards the witch before inviting it to explore every mysterious corner of her crowded workshop. The result is a richly imagined scene that captures the darker magic of classic Disney storytelling.
A compelling addition for collectors drawn to Disney villains, atmospheric illustration and the European fairy-tale traditions that helped shape Disney’s earliest masterpieces.
