Beautiful study rendered in pencil. This preliminary drawing was used in the creation process for a watercolour created by Barks in 1995 (see colour photo for reference). The finished watercolour was released as a limited edition lithograph which was sold for fund-raising purposes for the International Museum of Cartoon Art. When comparing this study with the finished piece it becomes clear that this study was part of the later parts of the layout stage as the composition is quite close to the finished watercolour,
This rough and beautiful preliminary drawing is signed by Barks at the lower right corner. The art has been professionally framed in a black wooden frame with a white mat and matching black wooden inner border and behind museum quality reflex-free glass to a total size of approx. 36 x 39 cm.
This is a beautiful and unique gem that would fit well in any Carl Barks or fine art collection.
