The Golden Fleece – Production Proof

Offered here is one extremely rare production proof. We have previously offered test proofs for various Carl Barks lithographs but this is the first time ever that we have been able to offer a production proof for one of the Disney Art Edition serigraphs.

When it comes to paper type and image size, this fine art silkscreen print is the same as the officially released edition. What makes this print stand out from the released edition is the fact that the colour range and depth is different which means that this proof was likely sent to Barks for approval of colour selection and application at some point during the mid-stage production phase.

We have had two separate parties – one of which was very close of Mr. Barks back then – verify and confirm that this proof was indeed sent to him in the early 1990s. Gallery Disneyana+ will issue a certificate of authenticity attesting to the provenance of this rare piece of Disney art history.

This extremely special production proof serigraph is signed in hand by Carl Barks and numbered PP 19/25 which arguably denotes its edition number in the pre-production phase.

It has been professionally framed and matted in our exclusive Gallery Disneyana+ gold frame to a total size of 52 x 82 cm.
